Menya Miyabi Hokkaido Ramen, Sunway Pyramid & Ben's General food store, Publika

As promised, I'm back with another food post! :)

I'll start this post off with the ramen shop that my mum, sis and I went to last sunday at sunway pyramid. The name of the ramen shop was Menya Miyabi Hokkaido Ramen. It's located next to the Sunway Clio's hotel lobby area.

I really love restaurants with minimalist concepts.

Untitled
The menu. Based on my own point of view, the prices of the food here is more on the expensive side.

Untitled

Untitled
Green tea hot/cold priced at RM2.80 each.

Untitled
Fried chicken karaage and potato croquette. I forgot both of the prices. Oh, and we did actually ordered a bowl of edamame.

Untitled
I had the tonkotsu ramen. It was quite salty but fred not, you can always ask for an extra bowl of soup to dilute the taste of it. :) RM25.

Untitled
Sis ordered the spicy tan tan ramen priced at RM25 as well. I still prefer the ramen at Menya Yamato menjalara. Total bill came about RM110+ oh my..

And at night, we went to try out the Ben's general food store at publika. Just ordered two things for dinner because we weren't hungry that night.

Fresh lemonade, RM14.90 if not mistaken.

Untitled

Untitled
We ordered a pan of pineapple party pizza (chicken and pineapple). RM28. I must say, the pizza tasted really really good! The ingredients were really fresh and the texture of it was soft.

Untitled
We ordered another sweet dessert pizza. This one's maple syrup with banana and mascarpone. RM17. Another worth trying dish! :)

Okay, have to go and study now, see you soon! :)

Chimi Churri at Jaya One, PJ

Hello there! It's thursday which also means my break day of the week. Just finished up my part for the mpu subject, can't believe that I'll still be doing mpu as a subject in uni. *rolls eyes* School was fine but extremely tiring due to the long study hours which starts from 9 and ends at 5 each day. Still got a lot of reading to catch up! :(

Last two weeks, my college friend Huey Leng fetched us out for lunch at Jaya One. We had our lunch at a place called Chimi Churri. To me, Chimi Churri sounded like a very cute name for a restaurant. They serve fresh food ranging from wraps to sandwiches and to rice bowls. Tbh, I find that the food there seemed 'too healthy' for me because I'm not a huge fan of mushed up vegetables or steamed vegetables and I don't usually take 'healthy' food for lunch. Don't get me wrong, I don't hate the food there, it's just that I'm not used to such dishes. Anyways for a change, I grabbed the wrap for lunch.

Untitled

Untitled
First step, choose what type of meal you'd like. I chose to have the wrap with chicken breast meat. RM 9.90.

Untitled
Next step is to choose your combination of warm fillings or vegetables. I picked the roasted vegetables.

Untitled
Lastly, choose the dressing/sauces you prefer to be served with your dish. I had BBQ and chimi churri sauce (I guess that restaurant was actually named after that sauce hehe).

Untitled
The interior of the restaurant. Oh and if I'm not mistaken, they do serve fruit infused drinking water for their customers too. :)

Untitled
This was my wrap with chicken breast, roasted vegetables and BBQ and chimi churri sauce. Overall, the wrap tasted not bad but it was just a little too bland for me. I liked the flatbread wrap itself a lot as it was soft and chewy. :D

And that is it for today's post!

Snack hunt at Pav KL (Eggette lab & Churros Royale dessert bar)

Untitled

YOOOOO GUYSSSSS! The people who are reading this right now, you must be feeling happy that I finally took some time off to blog about something right? Hehehe. How was law school? The fact that I haven't been exposed to the law subject before even in A-levels, has definitely made it a lot more difficult for me to adapt to the subject itself. I'm not really used to the routine of heavy reading yet and maybe eventually I will (even if I can't I must make it work somehow).

Untitled
The law book is so much thicker than my face (jokes).

Jokes aside, I'm here today to share with you guys about the snacks that I've tried at Pavilion last weekend. The first thing I went for was the eggettes from the eggette lab. Read lots of reviews online and most people said this stall serves really great eggettes and yeap, they were right. I've only had eggettes once before in Singapore and it wasn't really nice, the shells of the eggettes were too crunchy and the insides were hard. So I was really excited to try this one out!

The menu.

Untitled
After payment, we were required to wait for our turn to collect the eggettes.

Untitled
Fresh out of the eggette waffle maker. The flavour I bought was original. RM4.40.

Untitled
The insides were soft and yes, they tasted really really good!

I'm sure most of you must have heard the word 'churros' before and know what it looks like so I guess I don't need to elaborate further. I've always heard about how good churros tasted like and all fancy things about it and yeah, that's how I decided to give it a try.

Untitled

Untitled
I chose the mixed chocolate flavoured churros. RM10.50.

Untitled
Here is a picture of what it looked like!

I always thought churros were really nice pastry-like desserts and judging by their appearance, they must taste like bomb but nope, it tasted nothing like what I expected. :( To me, it tasted like some fried youtiao (yao zha guai) in a harder and chewier version. Maybe it was just me haha.

So that's all for now, more food posts will be coming up soon!

Catch up with Brendz and Charmaine

Since Brendz is leaving Malaysia this weekend, we decided to have a catch up session with each other today. We chose Publika as our meet up destination since we're familiar with the place and it was easy for Ben to join us as well. I will remember this day forever in my life. It was a really enjoyable catch up session; good food and great company. I'm really going to miss them both dearly. :(

Brendz and Char, if you're reading this, all the best in your studies and everything in life! Thanks for being such a lovely sister/listener/companion. You guys are the best. Cheers to great friendship and future ahead! :D

Was supposed to reach Publika at 11.30 am but god knows why I was late (because of the inevitable jam around my housing area). We had our lunch at Namoo, the korean dessert cafe and bistro on the park. Heard lots of good reviews about the place and I was glad to be able to try out the place like finally hahaha.

Untitled
I heard that their rice burgers are not bad but I didn't feel like trying it out today, so I opted for kimchi soup with rice.

Untitled
A part of their menu.

Untitled
My lunch of the day, kimchi soup  (RM23) with rice  (RM3). The total of it was RM 26. It was mediocre in my opinion.

Untitled
Ben's spaghetti with beef or something, I couldn't remember what was it haha.

Untitled
Sis' order, soya carbonara glass noodles (?). It was on their special menu for RM23. Sis enjoyed it very much and said it was good, but it was a little too creamy to her liking.

Untitled
Charmaine's order.

Untitled
Brendz's order. Sorry but I had no idea what both Brendz and Char ordered, one of it was fish and chips I guess. :p

Untitled
After lunch, we took some pictures together and went over to Bing's to have some bingsu. It was the first time we've ever visited Bing's.

Untitled
They have a nice little self-service corner for drinking water refills.

Untitled
The menu. I was so tempted to try many things but my wallet wouldn't allow me to do so ahahaha. The strawberry bingsu was RM23 while the mango and pineapple bingsu costed RM22.

Untitled
My sis and I had the mango and pineapple bingsu while Brendz and Ben had the strawberry bingsu.

Untitled
I have to admit that this is the best bingsu I have ever had, literally. I was expecting their shaved ice to be coarse but no, it was super soft and silky smooth! Btw, the shaved ice was milky so it does have a really great taste. It melts instantly in your mouth! Would definitely come back to this place again for more bingsu. :p

Untitled
Took some pictures with these two lovelies before leaving the place.

That's all for now, see you guys!

First day of university life

#tbphotocuzidonthaveanyniceonestopost

Hi guys! I'm feeling sleepy already as I'm typing this. I'm still feeling really tired even after getting a short nap. The jam was extremely bad this morning. I usually take around 40 minutes to an hour to reach my university but today was an exception, I took nearly two freaking hours just to reach my destination. CRAZY! And I was almost late.. Anyways, I have officially started uni today!!!

So if you were to ask me how was it I would say it started off pretty well, except for the traffic jam part. As I was late, I rushed to the parking lot and parked my car then I ran up the stairs (there wasn't any time to take the lift though). By the time I reached the classroom, I was shocked by the amount of students sitting in the class. There were soooo many of them so I quickly went to search for an empty seat. Feeling all nervous and anxious, I just randomly sat next to three friendly girls/ladies and took a deep breath. We were briefed and given short introductions on the different types of law in the syllabus.

I'm really thankful to meet three of my new friends who are Mag, Rachel and Huey Ling. They're really nice. :)  Mag is one of the sweetest and loveliest person I have ever met in life. It was such an honour to meet her! :D

What did you bring to uni on the first day? Well, I brought my pencil case, some foolscap papers, a jacket and my bottle of water. :)

That's all for the current update, I'll see you guys in the next post.

Oh!Tea (Oh Tea), Laman Rimbunan Kepong

Visiting hipster cafes has been one of the things that I really wanted to do after my A2 exams but unfortunately I didn't really had the chance to do it due to the many events/happenings and emergencies that has happened throughout my holidays. I bet you guys will agree with me if I tell you the reasons why I would love to visit such places is because of their instagram-worthy food and beverages and also their clean + modern looking interior designs.

One day, as my mum drove past Laman Rimbunan in Kepong, I was attracted by this newly opened cafe's signage. Same as the title above, it's called 'Oh!Tea'. So I went online and searched for the details or any blog posts about this place and all I can only find was their facebook page. According to their fb page, they serve different types of teas and beverages such as coffee and chocolate drinks and a variety of food including pastas, snacks and waffles. It has been a while since I've ever had any waffles so I decided to give this place a try. We went on a Sunday evening. On a side note, there will be no pictures of any hot food as we were told that their kitchen was on a break from 4-5pm.

Untitled
The beverage menu.

Untitled
And the food menu. Waffles were the only thing available to order by the time we reach that place.

Untitled
The interior of it.

We ordered a pot of french rose + apple tea. RM10.90.

Cute little round tea cups.

Untitled
I ordered a plate of waffles topped with vanilla ice cream and strawberries. RM9.90.

Untitled
The waffles were super crispy and a tad bit hard so it took some time for me to chew hahaha.

Thoughts about this place? I would say both the food and drinks served were okay but their service definitely needs a lot of improvements (in terms of friendliness). They got our orders mixed up initially but in the end all was well.

See you again soon!
