Dinner at saisaki buffet

Hey people! My holidays are finally here! Yesterday was the last day of our school and most of us really enjoyed it. We, the Einsteiniens and the students from Archimedes went for a visit at Taylor's University and College while my bestie, See Qing and her classmates went for a visit at the Segi University and College. The activities held were quite fun but really really tiring. We did experiments on collecting our own DNA, which they called it as 'genes in a bottle'. The experiment was quite similar with what we did previously during our visit to Sunway uni & college (DNA of bananas).

Another thing that we did in Taylor's was something like a mission where each of the groups were given a piece of question paper and all you have to do is to walk around and get answers almost everywhere in the university's compound. Okay seriously, the most attractive thing about the university is that they have like, A LOT of cafes and restaurants. Skip the food part. During the mission, we took pictures with the staffs, male students and we even took a picture with an international student which was a korean lady. Not to forget we also bumped into a nice and friendly girl senior. HEH! After we've completed the challenge, it's time for our break, yay! Right after I've finished my lunch, Huey Syuen and Chun Min accompanied me to Starbucks to get a drink. :D

Loving the starbucks red paper cup!

And the main topic is, dinner at saisaki! It's located in the UOA building in KL, you can check it out by googling it. You know how much I love about buffets right right right. *drools* Buffets are amazing. You can just take whatever kinds of food that you like and gulp it all at once, nah just joking, you'll die from choking by eating like that. My mum happen to know this place as she and her friends had buffet lunch once before at saisaki. So she brought us there last Wednesday! :D

Time to chill out a little bit

It's time to sit back and relax a little instead of being too tied up with all sorts of things. I really need some space to clear my mind up. Gotta refresh my mind. Telling myself that I must be able to cope with things and accept new challenges. Improvements must be made too. Will be bringing you guys a food post update here soon!

Baking vanilla cupcakes!

Aloha everyone! It's already the weekend! Are you guys feeling excited or are you guys partyin'? Hahahaha, nah, I'm just saying it for fun as fridays always remind me of Rebecca Black's Friday music. That music is stuck in my mind. *sings along to the 'Friday' song* Okay, enough of the friday part. It's already Saturday today so I don't wanna talk about the past. I think I've been bullshitting a lot lately. *plays Rebecca Black's my moment song* WHATEVERRRRR...

Back to the main topic, yup, I'd successfully baked some vanilla cupcakes on my own... yea, with some extra help from my little sister. With the new oven, I can now bake any kinds of cakes or make any kinds of desserts. But I'm seriously lazy to bake anything using the oven so I think I will only use the oven whenever I feel like it. I wanted to bake some red velvet cupcakes but I didn't get to buy the ingredients so never mind, I'll bake that someday. I used a box of vanilla cake mix to bake these vanilla cupcakes. I think I shall use my own ingredients instead of using these pre-packaged cake mixes next time. The cupcakes were too sweet.

As for the frosting, I made oreo buttercream frosting for the cupcakes. I think it tasted better than the ordinary buttercream frosting. I made the oreo buttercream frosting first before baking the cupcakes.

IMG_6048
Ingredients for the oreo buttercream frosting. I didn't use exact measurements of the ingredients to make the frosting. I followed my own instincts while creating the frosting. The use of the can of whipped cream and the tube of decorating icing is optional / not necessary.

IMG_6053
And yes, vanilla extract/essence is also needed to create the frosting.

IMG_6051
Oreos!

IMG_6049
Bought this cute little icing decorating tool from Daiso. Eventually, I didn't get to use this as the oreo chunks in the buttercream frosting were too large to pass through the tip of the decorating tool.

IMG_6052
I used a small amount of butter to create the frosting as I don't need a lot of frosting.

IMG_6056
Beat the butter with an electric mixer until it's light and fluffy. You can also do it by using a spatula or a whisk, but it'll be extremely tiring.

IMG_6058
Added in some icing sugar and continued beating it.

IMG_6060
Added some decorating icing, half teaspoon of vanilla extract and whipped cream into the mixture. I added the decorating icing into the mixture is to give it a little bit of colour and as for the whipped cream, I want to make the mixture a little bit creamier and fluffier. You can use a tablespoon of milk instead of whipped cream for this purpose.

IMG_6059
Added in some crushed oreos and continued beating the frosting until desired. Add as many oreos as you like. And the frosting is done!

IMG_6065
And then it was lunch time! Melted some cheese on my plate of white rice by using the oven. Hehehe.

Then I proceeded to bake the cupcakes!

IMG_6050
This is the type of cake mix that I used.

IMG_6067
The ingredients needed. The bottle of Ribena is not included in the recipe unless if you wanna make something 'extraordinary' out of it. :p

IMG_6068
Butter.

IMG_6069
Mixing all the ingredients together.

IMG_6070
Done mixing the ingredients! I made a few oreo cupcakes as well!

IMG_6072
The cupcake casings and the mess behind it.

IMG_6073
Test baked one of the cupcakes.

IMG_6075
Put the batter into the casings.

IMG_6076
And off they went into the oven!

IMG_6079
Was feeling excited at that moment.

IMG_6080
The outcome!

IMG_6081
The vanilla cupcake with oreo buttercream frosting! Now I realised why most of the people said that cupcakes need to be cooled before frosting. This is because when the cupcakes are hot, they will actually melt your frosting and it'll make the frosting look watery.

Watched Thor 2 with mum today. Well, I'm the type of person who doesn't really enjoy watching action-packed movies but I heard that most of the people were saying that the movie was awesome so I decided to give it a try. The movie was initially boring but the rest of the scenes were good. Not bad. :D

Taken from my instagram again.

So that's all I would like to share with you guys today.
I'm really tired while blogging this so I'll stop right here.
Goodnight everyone, see you soon!

Recent events 5/11/13

I just don't understand why but I feel that I have the urge to blog recently. Maybe it's because I've abandoned my blog for a long time and I miss blogging so yeah I'm here again today! Three days of non stop blogging, haha. And yes, HI EVERYONE!

Tomorrow's my last day of holiday and by Thursday, we'll be back to school to continue with our studies. Education never stops. I don't think that my holidays will last long as I might be going back to the school to carry out my duties. As a prefect, my responsibilities would always be my priority. One would not get anything done without being responsible. Being the leader, I have always been facing with different types of challenges. At the same time, I'm trying to improve myself and I always tell myself to stay strong. Never forgetting my team of prefects too, they are important to me. :)

Last Wednesday, my schoolmates and I went for a visit to the KDU university college. It was a team building talk which was conducted by a guy lecturer. I didn't enjoy it much as most of the talks are boring. Well, you know, you can't deny that you hate talks or courses which you'll have to sit there for hours listening to the same person talking about things that you have already known about a long time ago. *face palm* But overall, the talk wasn't as unpleasant as I'd imagined it to be. We played some games. It was quite interesting though. :D

IMG_5829
Lunch of the day!

In the afternoon, we are back in school. I stayed back with a few prefect friends (See Qing, Chen Yeh, Celine, Jing Ying, Joel and Prasant) to clean up the prefects' room and to update our new prefectorial board. Felt really pleasant with the outcome. Great job guys! :)

IMG_5857

Extra happenings to share with,

IMG_3156
My sis got her new baby G watch! Hers is red. Mine is blue. :D

IMG_8852
It was Halloween last friday so I've decided to try out Jane's (volturi from Twilight) makeup.
Well, the eyeshadow is black. :B

So that's all for today's update. I'll be back again soon! See you.
